I’m a proud alumna of Ohio University in Athens, OH, where I received my B.S. Journalism at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. I focused on magazine journalism and gained experience working for the student-run online magazine, The Essay, as well as the nation’s only student-produced regional magazine, Southeast Ohio. I also gained experience in news writing as a campus reporter for the college town’s local paper, The Athens News.
As an indecisive student, I was back and fourth between the magazine industry and public relations, and so I also dabbled into PR during my studies. I volunteered at the local hospital as a community relations intern, where I gained experience with event planning and promotion, media relations, layout design, and fact-checking/copy editing. I also volunteered with the local yoga studio, Inhale Yoga, and created a media kit.
Though my passion lies in the magazine industry, I love all evolving aspects of journalism and am anxious to continue learning in the real world.
